When You Arrive In The UK - Point to Point Education

  When you arrive in England at the beginning of a new school term you might be a little excited, a little nervous or even anxious about what is ahead. When you are placed in a teaching job with Point to Point you are automatically invited to our termly Induction Day.

- About Induction Day
  
  Induction days are held every term at the Australian Centre on the Strand, London. This full-day event is your chance to meet and greet with other educational professionals from overseas and is the opportunity to make some new friends.

- Guest Speakers
  
  Point to Point work with exceptional education leaders from around the UK. Academy Trust CEOs, Executive Principals and School Leaders volunteer their time to cover in-depth topics and all you need to know about teaching in England. Client Schools and Trusts that partner and successfully recruit teachers from overseas are always willing to assist in making the relocation and transition as smooth as possible for you. The topics that the guest speakers include:
- Behaviour management in the classroom
- In this session, you will learn about practical approaches to behaviour management, how to identify different forms of misbehaviour and reasons for poor behaviour in classrooms. You will also have the opportunity to share strategies that you have previously learnt with your peers.
- UK Education System
- You will be provided with an in-depth outline on how the education system operates in the United Kingdom and a brief contrast between that and education system of your country of origin.
- UK Curriculum, Planning, Assessment and Marking Expectations
- You will learn key points on the curriculum, student assessment and marking expectations that are implemented across the UK.
- Further Relocation Support
- The biggest challenge of pursuing a sea change is just that, the move itself. In this session you will be given the opportunity to seek help in relocation, whether it be accommodation or places to visit, we’re here to help!

- - Whether you are new to teaching or not moving to England and starting a new job and life is a massive feat and if it was easy everyone would do it. At Point To Point, we recognise that all teachers from all walks of life need to feel supported and nurtured.
